Ronald McDonald House Newsletters

The client is the Jacksonville, Florida, chapter of Ronald McDonald House, which provides no-cost lodging to families with children who are undergoing lengthy hospital stays. As part of a nationwide re-branding, our local House required an updated look for their bi-annual newsletter mailing. They wanted a bold, playful theme that worked within the organization’s branding guidelines, and could be easily adapted to fit new content, as the format has changed over time from 8 to 12 pages, and then to a 6-panel trifold. The client provided body copy, photos, and a basic outline for each newsletter design. This project was one which I oversaw from start to finish, often working directly with Ronald McDonald House staff when making edits.

Hartley Press ads

While employed at The Hartley Press I created several ads for publication in local magazines and promotional materials.

Pilot Pen Marketing Collateral

The sales team requested a “demonstration” kit be developed for the Down Force pen in order to show potential buyers how the product functions. The container required a label on the inside, and the goal was to communicate how to use the contents of the kit in a fun, graphic way, while maintaining the aesthetic from the Down Force retail blister package.

I created this promotional piece for distribution to retailers of high-end writing instruments, showcasing Pilot’s Fine Writing collection. The objective was to display the variety of pen choices in a clean, minimalist way to communicate luxury. {click image to view full PDF}

I was tasked with developing artwork for retail packaging in the Mexico market. Each pen’s blister card would have the same look in order to project brand consistency and allow for easy identification on store shelves.

CD Sleeve

Disc sleeve artwork for local irish folk rock musician. Client provided cover image, and wanted a gritty feeling to match the mood of the photo.

Wine Party shirts

The client was participating in a “wine marathon” in France, and wanted matching shirts for his team to wear during the race.

Engagement Invitation

Client wanted a chalkboard look with hand-drawn elements for her party invitation.

Paper Finishing

Assorted artwork that I have developed for custom foiling, die cutting, and embossing. Clients have provided some mechanical files, and I completed each project based on their needs for paper finishing.

Wedding Package

I developed these pieces for a wedding. The inspiration was vintage circus playbills, which I used in a literal approach on the invitation card. For the food and drink menus, ceremony cards, and coaster party favors, I chose a more elegant approach while keeping the same theme throughout each piece. The ceremony cards are thermography print and the coasters are letterpress.

Local Flair T-Shirts

A collaboration with the owner of Local Flair Tees in Chalmette, Louisiana, to design an original line of women’s apparel for her store. Her goal was to create fun designs to express hometown pride. The client and I had several brainstorming sessions to decide on her initial concepts, and I created shirt designs from the ones she liked best.

Southern Attitude T-shirts

A collaboration with the owner of Louisiana Unlimited to develop a line of original women’s apparel. Themes included Saints football, hometown pride, mardi gras, and pop culture references. The shirts were very successful and we expanded retail to include many French Quarter souvenir shops and exclusive partnerships with area Walgreens stores.

Festival Poster

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation put on a design contest for their inaugural Blues & BBQ festival. Participants were to create artwork that included the festival name, date, and list of performers.

Apartments For Rent Magazine

Single-page advertisements produced for Apartments For Rent Magazine. Clients requested original designs to make their properties stand out from others in the publication. Customized solutions were developed on an individual basis, either working within a management company’s existing brand guidelines, or creating a design completely unique to the magazine.

The For Rent team sponsored a promotional event at the Atlanta Apartment Association banquet, and I developed this 4×6 inch folding card to be placed on each table during dinner.

2 Page Advertisement

Developed for Brio Tuscan Grille for publication in a high-end lifestyle magazine.
